We all have deadlines and budgets to meet. The items below will help you avoid the most common causes of delays and extra fees:
-
Order early >
Waiting until the last minute can cause a whole cascade of problems including stress, mistakes and rush fees. Submit your order at least 2 weeks before you need your item so you can work out any issues that might arise and keep your peace of mind.
- Beat the holidays.
- Holidays are popular times for banners and other big print. While our print promises never falter, we may be slower to answer your questions or help with design needs.
- We’re closed on bank holidays. Even if our Sales Teams are working with you, our print presses are shut down.
- Delivery services like FedEx and UPS are closed or short-staffed on most major holidays meaning delivery times are longer than usual.
We are not responsible for shipping delays caused by holidays. Finalize your order as soon as possible to avoid delays or rush fees to meet your deadline.
- Beat the Friday rush. Many customers put off ordering until Thursday/Friday. Beat the rush. Finalize your orders Monday through Wednesday. (But… If it’s a Friday and you’re thinking of waiting until next Monday, don’t. Submit your order and we’ll get right on it!)
-
Be accurate >
Submit your print-file according to our print specs. This is the second most common cause of delays. If your print file is not print-ready, it will not print correctly. You are 100% responsible for submitting a print-ready file, but since we want your final product to reflect your intended design, we will do our best to detect errors and kick your file back to you. The delays caused by submitting non-print-ready files can be days or weeks! Unfortunately, the alternative is a product that prints wrong.Especially when submitting a PDF file, it’s easy to miss one little aspect like a font that isn’t outlined/vectorized.When using a template, the most common error is placing important design elements on bleed areas. Again, you are responsible for the print file you submit, but we will look for errors and kick your file back.

Send all shipping info >
80% of customers forget to send their phone number. It may seem like a small thing, but we require it in case we need help the carrier deliver your package successfully. We won’t submit an order without the phone number so please remember to send it!We understand that your information is private and we will keep it that way. Your information will only be used to process your order–nothing else.
-
Provide a deliverable address >
Our carriers are UPS and FedEx. They don’t have the same delivery access as USPS. For instance, they cannot deliver to a PO Box. They can’t always get into secured facilities or neighborhoods. If you are a church or business building… Make sure someone is available to receive the package! Churches are the most difficult locations because the office can be difficult to find or is often closed. Take this into account when deciding where to have your package shipped. You may wish to provide a more delivery-friendly location.
-
Account for weather >
Bad weather can create delays in shipping. Unfortunately, we can’t control the weather. Nor are we responsible for delays caused by weather. Winter-time is the biggest cause of weather-related days, but hurricanes, tornados, monsoons and other weather events can slow the delivery services down or even stop them in their tracks. Order in advance or, if your deadline is close, ask for expedited shipping.
-
Color Matching >
Some customers are very particular about their color-matching. We get it, we’re all proud of our brands! However, color-matching can change the entire scope of a project. You need enough time to test colors, inks and materials with the final outcome. The more particular your requirements, the sooner you should start with the color matching process. We will walk you through the color-matching process.Start your project far before you need your final prints, otherwise you may end up with delays, rush fees or colors you’re not satisfied with. We do not guarantee color-matches but our color-matching process will help you land the colors you’re looking for.Important: Be sure to tell us in advance that you have color-matching requirements. We do not print in Pantone colors, so inform us if you are looking for Pantone color-matches.
-
Ordering Proofs >
In effort to avoid proofs, we look at your designs and try to anticipate elements that may interfere with your design. We hope this gives customers added confidence in the outcome of their final product. These recommendations are not guaranteed, so we offer free proofs for approval if requested. This allows you to see how your finished design will look with certain elements like hems, grommets, pole pockets, curved corners, etc.Proofs are free but they can cause major delays to the process as we must generate them, send them to you, and wait for your final approval. If you choose to make adjustments to your design that adds more time to the process. Starting the process well in advance is the best insurance to finishing your product on time and with peace of mind.

Important disclaimers >

Banner City is not responsible for shipping or delivery. We are not FedEx or UPS. We don’t control them. We will do our very best to help ensure a successful delivery, but there will be no refunds for delivery mishaps or delays.
